P.S. Even the Associated Press doesn't have such a perfect shot of the eclipse phase.
"Even though photography is not a job for me, but a constant enjoyment of the process, there is still a genre which can be placed above all others, and that is Landscape. No matter if it is Moonscape or Sunscape, Cityscape or Mountains, Rivers or Lakes, Blue sky or deep Milky Way, I have lumped them all together under one big genre - Landscape. It is the genre of my solitude with myself, as my subject, though “silent”, can convey more to me than words can. Its silence or sounds is much richer than distinct speech. It's a time for reflection, where technical calculations don't confuse the thoughts in my head. It is a genre in which you can grow internally, constantly communicating with your inner self. This genre of photography is unequivocally the best thing I love to do all my conscious life".
"The majority of these pictures, are the coverage of official events with top officials, important moments of these events, such as handshakes, walking red carpet, a wreath laying and other formal ceremonies. I’ve taken most of these pictures while working at the State Telegraph Agency of Azerbaijan. Despite the fact that the work of a photographer in the former TASS Photo Chronicle is regulated by strict restrictions on how to shoot, I found it too boring, and introduced new methods and innovations. As a result, these pictures were published by the world's leading media, having their own requirements that were very different from the archival rules of the State Telegraph Agency".
"The photo story below is a story about the very important role of a documentary photographer in the life of a politician. It's a story about the tandem between two people who almost never spoke. It's a story about the power of photography. Scrolling below, you'll see the "President" - the one I've seen but others haven't. You'll see a strong-willed, kind, very popular and mega-active politician. But you should take a deeper interest by reading about him on the internet, and you will overwhelmingly find negativity - a mixed reputation among voters, media, and even politicians.
I wrote this story for seven years, in pictures that don't need description, although I can tell you a lot about each moment. He didn't become the President of Ukraine, but he became him in my photos. It sounds strange, but it's not my imagination only, since these photographs were published by the world's leading media in articles next to the presidents of world powers, while this man was much lower in status - he was a member of parliament. That is the power of photography. To show it in such a way, to present it in such a way that you don't just achieve your goals, but exceed them. You might think I created him, made him up, that he was a figment of my imagination. No, it's not. These pictures are a true documentary work many years in length. But to document a person's goodness, charm, strength, will and other best aspects, you must first of all truly see it in him, because you can't photograph what you don't see.
I beheld him as no one else!"
"Twenty years ago, I was photographing football matches on film with manual focus lenses. It was a time of total superiority of the human factor over the technical capabilities of cameras. Those times have passed and new ones have come, where the skills and background of a photographer still played a major role. Even 10 years ago, a well-captured moment in sports photography was an achievement of a photographer. All that time the growth of photographers always outpaced the technological development of cameras. Today, a technically good sports picture are the result of artificial intelligence and technological progress. But, I am proud that all these pictures are my merit, and not the camera with artificial intelligence".
